VISUAL MOTIVATION

I’ve been working on the same script for a while now. Some days the words flow out of my finger tips so fast I’m not sure if my body’s been inhabitited by a ghost writer or if my growing up in the digital age means I can type, comfortably, at 110 wpm.

Either way, no writing day is the same.

On the days I feel super stuck I read essays, articles and scripts written by usually, but not always Tina Fey, Fran Lebowitz, Nora Ephron or Lena Dunham.

In any event, I’m feeling hopeful for my writing future and when I’m not I look at the pictures like the ones above for visual motivation.

Have a productive day!

xx

p.s. This interview with Fran Lebowitz is outstandingly inspiring. I’ll leave you with a quote from her that I adore.

“There are some great writers who are great talkers, but there are more great writers who are not great talkers. People seem to think there is some connection between talking and writing, but I love to talk and if there were some connection between the two of them I would be the most prolific writer in the history of the world. – Fran Lebowitz”

Blogging is such a wonderful thing. It can connect you with tons of people, keep you energized and focused and ultimately assist you in achieving most kinds career paths. (Don’t believe me? Visit A Cup of Jo, Rejected Jokes or Oh Joy! and see how helpful blogging can be!)

Sometimes when I think  about it, I can’t believe how many people are out there blogging. The group of (not all, but mostly) women I follow on WordPress, Blogspot and Blogger inspire me every week to wear, try, read and do things that I otherwise might have never done.

One of my long time favorite bloggers Joanna Goddard writes a column on her blog called Weekly Challenges and since this past semester I haven’t been all about the bloggin’ I decided I’d take a few tips from her and challenge myself weekly to do things that really matter to me.

I love blogging so this upcoming week I’m challenging myself to blog everyday. Monday through Sunday. About…whatever!

I think one thing that’s always felt pressuring about blogging is meeting the deadlines.  Because I haven’t blogged in a while, the looming worries of a boring post, grammar mistake or an off design layout makes me feel like, Why bother?

So with the hopes of getting back into the blogging groove, I’ve decided to make next week my “Blog Everyday” week. I have a video I’d like to launch, books I’m reading I’d like to share and an overhaul of Instagram photos that I adore.

So with all that said, thanks for reading and maybe today you too will challenge yourself to do something out of the ordinary. Who knows where it may lead?

FEATURE FILM // BASTILLE

Seems silly, but I won’t ever forget the first time I heard Britney Spears’s song Opps!…I Did It Again. For whatever reason, I fell in love with the song and continued to sing it  for the better portion of the early 2000′s.

Since my love affair with Opps, I’ve found several bands and songs I can’t stop thinking about. Bastille‘s single released in February, Pompeii (which has 9 million views on YouTube) has taken over my life much like Britney’s songs did in my early childhood.
Bastille is a London based band, formed in 2010. They have such a profound sound that makes me feel stronger and happier every time I listen. Inspired by Bastille’s music, I created the above posters.

Happy Friday!
